How does it work?
The Pride in Place Programme gives power to local people and partnerships, bringing together residents, the local MP, the council, businesses and community organisations to decide how they would like to shape their area.
Local people will form a ‘Neighbourhood Board’. Bringing together residents, local businesses, grassroots campaigners, workplace representatives, faith leaders, and community organisations.
The board should generate a vision for the future of their area and set out a pathway to deliver that over the course of the 10-year programme (and beyond).
Who will benefit?
This project is designed to improve the lives of those living in the local community within Britwell. The exact boundaries are based on Britwell Middle layer Super Output Area (MSOA), covering approximately 4,000 households and 10,000 people.
What can this money be spent on?
This is up to you! Neighbourhood Boards will be encouraged to think innovatively and creatively about how to deliver for local people.
This could be:
- Funding for improvements to neighbourhoods and high streets or creating green spaces
- housing and bill support
- Skill-building to provide more opportunities and local business support
- community cohesion – groups, festivals and projects to bring together people across cultures, faiths and backgrounds
- health services – mental hubs, sports clubs, drug and alcohol support
- transport improvements – local buses, active travel or train connectivity
- crime prevention – local street wardens, crime reduction hubs or neighbourhood watch
- education and family support services
