Let’s take a look at Avanti West Coast’s record: (1) The fewest trains on time, (2) more complaints than any operator and a (3) wholesale failure to train new drivers. Yet despite this, the government has rewarded Avanti West Coast with a contract extension. The service reduction the government signed off was also supposed to increase reliability yet it has done the complete opposite. Why are the Conservatives rewarding failure?
