After recent comments made by Laurence Fox, I wrote an article to voice my serious concerns about any whitewashing of our history by not recognising the huge achievements and sacrifices Sikh soldiers made in both WW1 and WW2.
His suggestions that a Sikh soldier appearing in the Sam Mendes film 1917 was “institutionally racist” and “forcing diversity” were wrong and he has since apologised.

The incredible contribution of thousands of Sikh soldiers cannot be erased. I will always stand up for integration and community cohesion, celebrating all who serve our country, regardless of background, colour or creed.
